Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic brought the longest uninterrupted period of US economic expansion to a halt. It lasted more than 10 years, from 2009 to 2020. During this time, economic growth was neither hot nor cold, but relatively stable. That was, until the coronavirus pandemic reduced economic activity in the US and around the world.
Of course, it would be impossible to cover everything that’s happened so far this year. We believe, though, that tuning out the talking heads and focusing on the data will give us a clearer picture of the markets and the economy.
